Cipla Launches Drug to Fight Virus
Pharma company Cipla has launched the drug remdesivir in India under the brand name Cipremi. It is going to cost Rs 4,000.
This is one of the lowest priced versions of the drug remdesivir which is the only drug approved so far in the US against the virus.
The company aims to manufacture over 80,000 vials of the drug within this month.
New Cases of the virus continue to rise in India touching an all-time high of around 24,000 cases.
The recovery rate too has climbed - 4,78,000 patients out of 7,71,000 patients have recovered so far.
Shares of Cipla rose 0.69% in today’s session to Rs 638.8 per share.
